Raising Canada 2021: Recovering from the Impacts of COVID-19, the fourth in an annual series of reports that track the top 10 threats to childhood wellbeing in Canada, references CHILD’s COVID-19 add-on study and features artwork by CHILD participants.
The report, published by the national charitable organization Children First Canada, highlights the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic as a series of 10 threats, and provides policy recommendations for addressing each threat.
The threats identified include poor mental health, vaccine-preventable illnesses, and limited physical activity and play.
The report cites evidence from CHILD’s COVID-19 add-on study regarding children’s self-reported diminishment of physical activity during the pandemic. Its hand-drawn illustrations include eight pieces of artwork created by CHILD participants for the study’s 2019 Poster Contest.
