CHILD’s Deputy Director Dr. Meghan Azad is among five “rising stars” profiled in the Winter 2022 issue of Reach magazine, the annual publication of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR).
The article highlights Dr. Azad’s work, as an “early-career researcher who exemplifies science curiosity and innovation,” investigating how breast milk and the infant microbiome influence child growth and development.
The CHILD Cohort Study is also mentioned, as is Dr. Azad’s Manitoba Interdisciplinary Lactation Centre (MILC) and her project looking into the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on infants’ microbiomes.
