Other cat, tiger, fantasy, empowerment

Adele, 8 years old, Edmonton, AB

Statement: What is my poster all about? It’s about how sometimes you feel so useless, small, and weak (especially if you’re a kid), but you look into a mirror and you imagine, “one day I’ll grow up and be useful, and maybe Even so big, I’ll stand out like a fire on a dark night, and I’ll try to be as strong as that big oak tree out the window! I can’t wait! :)” You imagine yourself that same good person, so different, but you know you can be if you try……. Just like the kitten in my painting, that was so small, but it imagined itself as big and strong as a tiger! And the CHILD Study is trying to help kids grow up to be the best they can be. I also remember coming to the CHILD Study and getting tested for allergies, and finding out I was allergic to cats. That’s also why I chose this picture to paint for the contest.
