On October 23, 2018, the Honorable Catherine McKenna, MP, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, spoke with Dr. Malcolm Sears, Founding Director of the CHILD Study, on the health impacts of exposure to air pollution, as well as the potential future health impacts of climate change.

“I want to thank you for your research. We make decisions based on science; it’s really important,” says Minister McKenna, as their exchange draws to an end.

“It’s great to be able to follow children from their early stages, as we’re doing with [the CHILD Study] now, looking at the impact of the environment—as well as their genes, as well as their food, as well as all the other impacts on child health,” responds Dr. Sears,”But the environment has a big impact on the way children grow and develop.”
